  • Happy hump day!

The weather all over has been crazy.  We have been having extreme winds here the last 2 days.  The temperatures plunged as well.
Right now we are at 39 degrees with a wind chill of 29. I have seen rain, snow & sleet today! (although everything quickly turned back to water as it hit)
It was very hard to try to push my fully loaded grocery cart through the parking lot & very miserable having to unload it all into the car!

Yesterday morning I was bringing things in off of my front porch as the winds were starting up then. I was transferring them into the garage.
I had a pair of my rubber garden crocs on. It had also been raining outside. As I had my hands full & walked from the outside in to the garage, I slipped, then slid then crashed to the ground!
Needless to say, I landed on my bad knee...dontcha always!  Talk about pain. I am even sorer today of course & I am sure that I will be sore for the next several days.

Hubby & I went out last night. We had tickets to see Arlo Guthrie.
First we went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants downtown. I had one of the best meals that I have ever had there ( and I have had many!)
I had a pork tenderloin with a fig chutney on top, mashed Yukon gold & sweet potatoes & broccolini. All of the flavors combined were outstanding!
The concert was entertaining. Quite the mixture of people in attendance!  A lot of old hippies, older, well dressed people, college aged kids & then just normal folk like us! lol..

Daughter is finally starting to show some improvement in her health, thank goodness. She still has the nasty cough, but usually only in the mornings & sometime in the evening now. (Instead of nonstop like it was!)
You can also just tell in the way she looks & she sounds that she is finally starting to heal.   She is still having the shortness of breath though & the inhaler doesn't seem to be working for that.

This was taken several days ago while I was sitting on the front porch.  As you can see, most of the leaves are down from the trees.
After these winds get through, we will be lucky to have any leaves left!

Yes, I had fun watching my squirrel in the big oak tree!

These next few are of  sunset & some massive clouds  (also from several days ago!)

And then one of our cute pet visitors.

    some animal humor...

    If animals could talk...

  • Except for your knee, it sounds like all is well. That must have hurt like heck! I hope the "only" problem will be some temporary soreness. Glad to hear Daughter is on the mend. She really had some nasty stuff, for sure! Was it flu? I actually got a flu shot several weeks ago. They were in early this year, and it seems to be there is plenty, unlike last year.

"Pet visitors" - love that idea! All the fun of pets without having to feed, license and vaccinate them! LOL Guess that's just for big pets, though. I can't imagine my 10-lb., spoiled dog lasting one night outside in our yard, let alone the wild! LOL Love the cartoons and your "fall chair"! The "horsepower" joke is right up my auto parts alley! :-p The skunks and the "password" one crack me up, too!

Hope you and Daughter are good as new very soon!

    Kathi

  • Hope you heal up quick. I don't envy the weather you are having now. It's 72 here today though a bit windy. Glad your daughter is feeling better. That meal sounds yummy! I bet you and your hubby had a great time . Very cool sky pics. I love all of those animal funnies! peace & smiles

  • @Still_groovy -

No Kathi, it wasn't the flu, but an upper respiratory infection..the worst that she has ever had. The doctor said that it could actually last up to 6 weeks total! She has had it about 2 weeks maybe even a bit longer.

  • I always enjoy your Xanga.  All the pictures you took are beautiful.

The animal one of the skunks reminds me of me  lol dad is always on me for seeing things that are not right lol.  I do it everyday.   I laugh when the commerical comes on with a lady needing glasses and she thinks she is letting her kitty in and what it is , is a coon.  too funny.

Glad Lori is doing better.  Sure has taken a long time.

With the crazy weather you have Many there are sick.  Know you and Mike both were very ill with colds.

Better get out the warm pants suits boots, hats, gloves etc.  ugh !

Hope and pray you feel much better . Falling and hurting your bad leg not good . I Know you will take care of yourself.

The dinner and concert sound wounderful.  The food all so yummy. That was a great date night with your husband.  Very romantic.   love, hugs. mama mia

I love the squirrels they are so playful and cute ;o)

Love the cloud picys...what a weather day today huh?

I am glad daughter is getting better finally...man that was one nasty infection.
Jess is still sick with hers too...wonder if this is just a nasty strain?

I am jealous of you and Hubby's night....I can't wait til i can do stuff like that again ;o)

  • Oh darn to the knee. But all else sounds good in your world. Love the pics Judi

  • Sorry to hear your daughter isn't feeling well, hope she gets better soon. LOL @ the animal pictures, too funny. The weather here has been a bit odd also, you can find yourself bundled into your winter coat in the morning and tossing it off in the afternoon when the sun decides to beat down. Your meal out sounded yummy. Ok well take good care of you xoxox Tynee

  • I loved the animal humor!

Glad daughter is getting better, hey I got an email the other day talking about how putting an onion in a jar next to your bed how it will draw your sickness, said it would turn the onion black overnight and that you would heal quicker, i'll send you that email.

Hope the soreness has moved out lol!

  • @Mymanyblessings - hmmm....interesting on the onion!
