  • Bad day

    Today was not a good day.

    If you remember, we had daughter's car in the shop before we left on our trip before Christmas. We paid $750 for the repairs. When she drove it home from the shop, the oil light came on . We brought it back. They said it never would come on for them. We leave town, come home & the light is still on when she drives it. Then it starts making a horrendous noise. Hubby told her to just bring it to the Ford dealership to have them look at it. We dropped it off this morning...come to find out, when the first repairs were done, they bent the oil pan when they put it on, causing no oil to get into where it needs to be, thus causing metal shavings from the engine to be grinding away...making that godawful noise & now her engine is shot.
    At least the people responsible are seeming to make good on it. They were towing it from the dealership to the shop & turning it in to their insurance & will hopefully be having a rebuilt engine put into it. They also said that they would pay for a rent car for daughter...however with her being under 25 ...that didn't work out once we got to the rental place...long story & not even worth going into.  So, she now has my car. It is looking like she will be without for at least a week and a half.

    I came home after a day of dealing with this with a headache & daughter & I were bickering about stupid stuff just because of the stress.

    Hubby picked up on our negativeness & took us both out to dinner & drinks. I needed that!

    I think that I am going to go to bed very early tonight &  just hope that tomorrow is a much better day!

  • Oh, that is so annoying! That's why they said they didn't ever see the light - they didn't want to admit their error but at least we it all came out they are trying to make good. Yes - it is a pain for under 25 yr olds to do rentals. Did you get the rental for you? I'm glad hubby knew just what to do . I hope everything gets straightened out. peace & smiles

  • Wow, that's not cool. Possibly a crack block and they didn't say anything? That's terrible whether they make good on it or not, I hope it works out though. I just bought a new car since I had oil problems, a minor leak but still a leak. Way to go dad.

    At least they are going to make good on it.
    It stinks about the rental.

  • ewwww...not a fun sounding day. that's great that hubby picked up on the negativity and took you guys out. sweet. well that's good that they are fixing the problem for lori. nice. to you!
