  • It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

my poor Christmas cactus just isn’t doing as well as it usually does.

Snow was late in coming this year.  Not going to say that I minded, but I also have to admit that I wasn’t feeling much in the mood for holidays without it!
I also think that the fact that daughter is no longer living here, makes it a little less fun.
But I finally got my decorations up in the house. Not the tree yet though. We are going on our trip to Florida, and I figured that I would just wait to put it up once we got home.
I do have to admit that I am pretty excited to take this trip. Neither hubby nor I have ever been to the Keys before, so it will be new for both of us. Plus it will be the first vacation we have ever taken alone!
Of course, we are both looking forward to some new types of fishing!
Be prepared for picture overload when I get home!

I got my first Christmas present from a dear friend yesterday.
It is SO me & something that I have actually seen & secretly wanted for quite a while now.
It is just one of those things that you (or I) have a hard time justifying spending money on myself for it…..

A wine cork cage!!! I just love it.  As most of you know, I do a lot of crafts & save my wine corks.
Now they will be saved prettily(<yes, it’s a word in my vocabulary!) on my kitchen counter!

    Speaking of wine & crafts…check this out…

Doesn’t it make such a pretty display?  I got the idea from pinterest (I am SO addicted to that site!)
So easy to do though… first spray primer on your bottles, then let them dry & then spray glue adhesive on & roll them in Epsom Salts!
Put on a silver tray (which I got at the dollar store), along with silver ornaments clear votive holders & sprinkle epsom salts on the tray as well for a snowy effect.
The picks I chose were also in silvers & I got them for 1/2 price at Michaels back when they were just putting out their Christmas stuff.

Now check out some more snowy pictures. The snow that we got was such a pretty one. Big fluffy flakes made it a real winter wonderland!

Of course, we made sure to put plenty of food out for our friendly visitors…

I have to admit….I do love Wisconsin!  Of course you may be having to remind me of this come February!

However, it will also be nice to be in the sun & on the water again, which I will be come day after tomorrow!!!!
Taking a trip at this time of year has been a little hectic though as I have had to get all of my gifts bought, wrapped & boxed up & to the post office as it would be about too late by the time we get home.
But I think that it is a small price to pay to have a week of relaxing on the beach!

Y’all be good when I am away!
