Happy New Year!
What? I’m ONLY 23 days late! Yes, I am over on Xanga less & less any more. It saddens me too every time I do come back & start looking at all of my past posts. I have been here so long & have posted so much of my life.
All is good here. We had a wonderful trip to the Florida Keys. I was a bit disappointed that the beaches were not what I was expecting. The locals there hear that a lot! Most of the islands are surrounded in vegetation. There are a few sandy beaches here & there, but they are not very large. It wasn’t that big of a deal. We weren’t planning on spending our time on the beach. I have to admit though that I was looking forward to taking long walks on the beach & collecting seashells. We did have a blast on our 2 fishing excursions, although because of the winds, we were not able to get out & do the offshore fishing. Both trips were done on the “backwaters” or the flats. We caught Mackerel, lady fish, yellow tail snapper,Mangrove Snappers, blue runners, Groupers, Grunts, Dori & a lizard fish & hubby got to real in a nurse shark!

Daughter came over after she got off work on Christmas eve & we had a nice dinner & ended up opening up our gifts that night. She came back over Christmas day & we had fun watching football & playing some games. New Years eve was even quieter as it was just hubby & I & we didn’t even make it to midnight! lol.. we did open our champagne & toast the next morning at 11:00 & then made Mimosas with the rest of the champagne & had with our brunch.
It has been a strange winter here. Took a while to get any snow on the ground & keep it. We are covered in white now and we had very cold temps (below zero) for a couple of days, but we also set new records for high temps in the winter. Of course, it has been weird all over. More tornado outbreaks down south the last 2 days.

You can pretty much go into any room right now & there is a project in progress of some sort! lol..I am making headway though,which is a great feeling.
I also have become very addicted to Pinterest! Oh my, you can get lost over there! lol…
I have 2 photos that won in the Chippewa County Tourism photo contest!!! I was so excited. 1 of them will be with 3 other winners on the cover of the tourism guide!!! The other will be inside. I hope to enter more photo contests this year. This is the second time that I have won after entering 3 different contests!
My new banner on top was made with some pictures that I took last winter. I had fun playing around on Picnik yesterday. They are closing their site down in April, so until then all features are free! So if you want to play around with some of your photos, go there soon.
OK, I best get this submitted. Hubby will be home soon & I still have some things that I need to do.
I hope that I won’t take so long to get back over here again!

It is always nice to see you post on xanga. I really think it is so much more personal than FB…I see you there but don’t always see all comments. There are just too many of them. I did see some of your pictures…looks like you had a wonderful trip to Florida..
glad to see you post, stranger! Dang…I’m getting sucked into Pinterest too. I’ve found some really cute crafts to make and yummy food to cook.
@dingdongdingbat - I totally agree with it being much more personal over here. I just wish that Xanga would make it easier to load pictures! lol…
@WakeUpLaughing - I hear ya on Pinterest Cindy! Why do you think I have so many different things going on! lol…It is a lot of fun & perfect for saving those things that you come across on the web!
