  • New Years Resolution

Resolutions, I normally don't make them, but the only one that I am going to try real hard at is coming here to Xanga more regularly.
I want to try to post something everyday. Whether it is a photo, a thought or just something to document the day.

I hope you all had a good end to 2010 & a great start to 2011. Cool date today...1/1/11.

We got daughter all moved in her new apartment on Thursday, so yesterday was our first day  as "official" empty nesters.

We didn't even see her at all yesterday. Wasn't suppose to be the plan, as we were going over to do a few things that she needed help with, but that all changed when she got an unexpected visitor from Oklahoma!
I have to admit that I was worried last night as I knew that she would be going out & that I would have no idea when or if she got home. But I have to let that go. I have to surrender all to God's will.

Of all times too, our weather here was horrible. It rained all day Thursday & then yesterday around 5:00 started to sleet & ice over.
Today the weather is VERY windy & cold. Our high is only suppose to be 10, which we are at 9 right now & the wind chill is -19.

Hubby & I  had a fun day yesterday actually. I think we were both trying real hard to make this newest transition easy on each other.
We stated off by going out to eat breakfast. We NEVER do that! lol.., so that was a fun change for us. We did a bit of shopping & then came home & played some darts & some pool.
We then went to dinner last night (yeah, it seems all we do is eat! lol) we tried a new place here in Eau Claire. HuHot Mongolian Grill. http://huhot.com/
I had  never been to one ever before. Hubby had. It was a lot of fun & you can go many times & never eat the same thing!
It was while we were there that the ice was getting worse. We watched a lot of people slip & slide out in the parking lot. We also saw several wrecks & cars off of the road on the way home.
One we got home, we tried to stay busy so we wouldn't just sit & fret about daughter being out in the bad weather.

Today I have stayed busy by cleaning up daughter's old room & moving my computer room in there. Hubby is going to use the room that I use to use for the computer for "his" room. He wants to put his hunting things in  there & maybe some books.

I still have to take all of my Christmas decorations down, but can't until daughter gets me all of my plastic storage tubs back to me. I let her use them to move her things in. So it looks like I have a lot ahead of me this next week to keep busy!

We have 2 big bowl games on today that we will be watching. The Rose Bowl...I have to be honest & say that I will be cheering for the Badgers instead of TCU!  Then it is BOOMER SOONERS!!!!!

I want to leave you with this wonderful recipe:

RECIPE FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR

    Take twelve whole months.
Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness,
    hate, and jealousy.
Make them just as fresh and clean as possible.

Now cut each month into twenty-eight, thirty, or
    thirty-one different parts,
but don't make up the whole batch at once.
Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients.

    Mix well into each day
    - one part of faith,
    - one part of patience,
    - one part of courage,
    - one part of work.

    Add to each day
    - one part of hope,
    - faithfulness,
    - generosity,
    - kindness.

    Blend with
    - one part prayer,
    - one part meditation,
    - one good deed.

Season the whole with a dash of good spirits,
a sprinkle of fun, a pinch of play,
and a cupful of good humor.

Pour all this into a vessel of love.
    Cook thoroughly over radiant joy,
    garnish with a smile,
    and serve with quietness,
    unselfishness, and cheerfulness.
You're bound to have a happy new year!

  • Christmas 2010

It went as fast as it came! We did have a fun trip though, even though it was short. It was so nice to get to see all of our family.
We left early on Saturday morning...had a beautiful sunrise

We said goodbye to the snow just north of Kansas City.
We had an 82 degree day while in Texas!

We celebrated Christmas with my family on the 19th. Here's our clan...

me, hubby, niece (9years old), sister in law, daughter, nephew in law, niece who is expecting & due on 1/4 :) ,
    my dad, brother & mom.

A couple of my favorite shots:

us girls with my dad, their papa

me with mom & the girls with their nana

I posted a bunch of photos on FB. If you are interested in seeing them,  you can go here:

    http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=87538&id=1590486701&l=c00443c4ee

    and here:  http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=87558&id=1590486701&l=d4e05b6ba2

We left TX on Wed morning & drove into Tulsa to see hubby's dad & step mom

Stayed the night & then headed back north on Thursday morning.
Had another beautiful sunrise to see as we left Oklahoma.

As nice as it was to see everyone, there is NO place like home! We were all so glad to get back to it!

We opened our gifts on Christmas Eve. We usually do. We are all worst than a bunch of young kids!
Once again, there are more pictures over on FB from those 2 links above.

Santa brought hubby AND me a pair of snowshoes! Will be fun to get to try them out.
Hubby has just around the yard so far & it has helped in him getting around to put feed out.

We're always a kid at heart.  Lori loved her sock monkey she got in her stocking!

I'm showing how big my new birdfeeder is!

There are no gifts better than the one that I enjoy every day...my wonderful husband and sweetl daughter.
My gorgeous home. My freedom to stay home & take care of my family & home.
    I am very blessed.
But hubby & daughter did pretty good at spoiling me with gifts as well!

I love this man of mine

and I could never ask for a sweeter, kinder daughter.

Best wishes to you all for a very Happy New Year.
    See you in 2011!

  • Hustle & bustle...

I absolutely can't believe that it is the middle of December already! Things have been busy around here & for some reason I just don't feel much of the Christmas excitement that I usually do each year.
Maybe it will come now that things are winding down a bit & I can actually start to relax & take it all in.

Speaking of relaxing...check out this gorgeous sunset I captured  a couple of weeks ago

Then we finally got some snow  and one afternoon I see this cute lil' guy playing in the white powder in the back yard...

I survived the humiliation & the prep of the colonoscopy! lol...actually for any of you out there who haven't had one yet, the actual procedure is not really that bad. You are out during the entire thing & don't remember anything at all.
Of course, the anxiety of it all will get the best of you & the day before is no fun at all. But it is very important to have done & keep up with. Women should get their first at 50 (unless otherwise advised by your doctor for other reasons) and then have done every 10 years unless there is a history of colon cancer or if any problems are found.
The only findings from mine was a common condition called Diverticulosis, which just means that I need to add more fiber  & water to my daily diet.
You can't even imagine at how relieved I was when all was over & done with!

Hubby's boss & his wife gave us a couple of live Maine lobsters, which we enjoyed for a wonderful dinner :)

ugly critters aren't they? But they taste SO good!

yeah, we're kind of redneck putting the whole thing on our plate like that! lol...

Last Saturday we had a huge snowstorm & blizzard. We set records in fact here in Wisconsin!
We had 25" on our deck by the time it was all over with on Sunday!
Thank goodness it happened on a weekend.
Not good for retailers or Christmas shoppers though. Can you believe that they actually shut the mall down! Which also means most of the other stores closed as well.
I have an album up on my Facebook site that I will link to here so I don't have to re-post those pictures.
    http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=85431&id=1590486701&l=c13593df15
If you get a chance, go check them out. It is unbelievable the amount of snowfall!
This was the same storm that also collapsed the roof of the Metrodome in Minneapolis on Sunday.

Some BIG news for daughter, which in turn is also big news for me....she is spreading her wings & flying off to her own little nest! Yep, she found a cute little 1 bedroom in an old house that is divided into a 4 plex.
She will move in after Christmas.  I am excited for her. I had my own place at 17, so I know she has to be ready at 21!  Thank goodness she will be close by too!  I would be having a really hard time if she was moving off to another town or state!

Yesterday her & I spent the day in the kitchen starting on our Christmas goodies.

She was really excited to try something new that I had found for us this year...

drain & pat dry a jar of Maraschino Cherries.Melt a bag or chocolate morsels. Unwrap some kisses (hugs, actually..the white ones with the chocolate stripes)
    And have some slivered almonds,
Dip the cherry into the melted chocolate, attach a kiss to the front of the cherry...add "ears" of almonds & with a toothpick, dot with chocolate eyes & a nose ...and...
    VOILA!......

You get these cute lil' mice!

Then we made a lot of our favorites...(all of these recipes can be found in my recipe links in my left module)

    Pretzel Turtle Candies

    Italian Anise cookies

    Mocha Truffles

We also made but didn't get pictures of this time, our rum cakes, sugar coated pecans, spiced pecans, M & M holiday bark & some peanut brittle.
I spent most of today in the kitchen as well. But it is now all done & ready to be divided up & put into gift bags/boxes tomorrow & then handed out very soon ; )

while we were baking, we saw this cute girl wander in to get some lunch...

She is definitely not hurting for a meal! lol..

These next few pictures I took over the last few days while out & about.
Shows the aftermath of the huge snowfall. There are places that were piled so high from the plows that you could hardly see around or over them to pull out onto the streets safely.
This stuff ain't going anywhere either. It will be here until the thaw in the spring!

    In the Walmart parking lot.

Most of the main roads are all clear, but the side roads all look like this.
I really love my smart 4 wheel drive!

Nice to see that sun shine though!

This little pond up the road from us is frozen over.

One of our neighbors front yard

another neighbor up the street from us...2 cars are buried...the one at the back is a pickup, but it is completely covered!
All the more reason why you must have a garage up here!

I will end with a few shots from the game camera...

She looks like she if frozen!  See how deep that snow is on her!

and then the turkeys came ....

    head butting bucks

This was a funny "mirror image" shot!

and these coons are for sure not starving! lol...

I will not be around now until after Christmas.
I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and if I don't get back on in time....a happy New Year as well.
I hope you are surrounded by family & friends.
Safe travels to those of you who are  or to those who are coming to you.

Peace & love to you all.

  • In my last post I showed you our new Albino squirrel visitor.
Here is one of our red squirrels that have been frequenting the feeders

They are considerably smaller than the regular squirrels, but also meaner and more aggressive.
We have been having a lot of them around here lately. I haven't seen the albino any more though.

Gun season closed this past Sunday. I have to say though that hubby got in quite a bit of hunting time, so for that I was happy.
He got 2 does, but no buck. He'll have to get one with his arrow before the month is up.

While he was away at hunting camp, here is a variety of visitors right here in our yard....

look how fat that danged coon is getting! lol..

    Mr. Foxy

They all decided to have a party & taunt hubby when he got home to view the pictures! lol..

ooh, what is that I see...TWO bucks!

I was wondering why the weren't butting heads..but the did end up doing it

but not for too long...they were willing to share their space with each other.

Thanksgiving day was a nice day. Snow on the ground, yet the sun was shining.
Just the 3 of us, but it was a nice lazy day.

had a ham, mashed potatoes, whipped sweet potatoes, hominy casserole, roasted carrots & baked spiced apples.
For dessert, an apple pie. (store bought!)

And so here we are on the first day on the last month of the year.
Most of my Christmas shopping is done. Most of my presents are wrapped. I will put up my tree & decorations this weekend.

Our heater went out this morning. Luckily the repairman showed up at 1:00 & was able to get the part that it needed & I am now back up & running.
Also lucky to have a fireplace & some electric heaters!

Daughter has finals next week. How quickly this semester went by. She was so frustrated trying to get a schedule for next semester. Of course, being an underclassman doesn't help at all.
She ended up only getting 3 classes (for now) I am going to see if we can't find SOMETHING else that she would be interested in that is available.

We got to go & see her chorus group perform this past Monday night. They were all really good & it was fun getting to see them (finally!).

I am scheduled for my colonoscopy next Friday the 10th. I am SO dreading it...but I also know how important it is to have done. Remember ladies, you need one once you turn 50. Then you are good to go for 10 years.
I am having to miss a Christmas party because this thing has been scheduled for quite a while & we got the invitation afterward. But hubby is going to miss it with me to stay home & tend to me :)

They are still trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with my hand & finger. The MRI came back showing rheumatoid, but the blood tests were "unremarkable". I am going back to the Rheumatologist in a couple of weeks.
I can not make a fist with my right hand. Have no strength in it at all. And it is in a lot of pain.

That's about all that has been happening around here.

I want to share this cute email that I got before I sign off...

    Bible Study Humor

    LOT'S WIFE
The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt,
when little Jason interrupted, 'My Mommy looked back once while she was driving,' he announced triumphantly,' and she turned into a telephone pole! '

    GOOD SAMARITAN
A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan.
She asked the class, 'If you saw a person lying on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?'
A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, 'I think I'd throw up.'

    DID NOAH FISH?
A Sunday school teacher asked, 'Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark ?'
'No,' replied Johnny.  'How could he, with just two worms.'

    HIGHER POWER
A Sunday school teacher said to her children, 'We have been learning how powerful kings and queens were in Bible times.
But, there is a Higher Power. Can anybody tell me what it is?'
    One child blurted out, 'Aces!'

    MOSES AND THE RED SEA
Nine-year-old Joey was asked by his mother what he had learned in Sunday School.
'Well, Mom, our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt ..
When he got to the  Red Sea , he had his army build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely.
Then he radioed headquarters for reinforcements.  They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and all the Israelites were saved.'

'Now, Joey, is that really what your teacher taught you?' his Mother asked.

'Well, no, Mom.  But, if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never believe it!'

    THIS IS MY FAVORITE!!!
    THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible - Psalm 23.
She gave the youngsters a month to learn the chapter.  Little Rick was excited about the task - but he just couldn't remember the Psalm..
After much practice, he could barely get past the first line. On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Ricky was so nervous.
When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, 'The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know.'

    UNANSWERED PRAYER
The preacher's 5 year-old daughter noticed that her father always paused and bowed his head for a moment before starting his sermon.
One day, she asked him why. 'Well, Honey,' he began, proud that his daughter was so observant of his messages.  'I'm asking the Lord to help me preach a good sermon.'
'How come He doesn't answer it?' she asked.

    UNTIMELY ANSWERED PRAYER
During the minister's prayer one Sunday, there was a loud whistle from one of the back pews.  Tommy's mother was horrified.
She pinched him into silence and, after church, asked, 'Tommy, whatever made you do such a thing?'
Tommy answered soberly, 'I asked God to teach me to whistle, and He did!'

    ALL MEN / ALL GIRLS
When my daughter, Kelli, said her bedtime prayers, she would bless every family member, every friend, and every animal (current and past).
For several weeks, after we had finished the nightly prayer, Kelli would say, 'And all girls.'   This soon became part of her nightly routine, to include this closing.
My curiosity got the best of me and I asked her, 'Kelli, why do you always add the part about all girls?'
Her response, 'Because everybody always finish their prayers by saying 'All Men!'

    SAY A PRAYER
Little Johnny and his family were having Sunday dinner at his Grandmother's house.  Everyone was seated around the table as the food was being served.
When Little Johnny received his plate, he started eating right away.
'Johnny!  Please wait until we say our prayer.'   said his mother.
'I don't need to,'  the boy replied.
'Of course, you do,'  his mother insisted.  'We always say a prayer before eating at our house.
'That's at our house.'   Johnny explained.  'But this is Grandma's house and she knows how to cook!'

  • Sleety, sleepy Sunday

The weather outside is icky. I walked out on my deck & what looked like wet boards was a slick icy film. It is dreary, dark & dismal. A good day to stay inside & be lazy!

Gun season (deer hunting)  opened here yesterday morning at 7:00 am. It is a short season (only 9 days long). Makes no sense to me seeing as how there are plentiful amounts of wildlife up here.
Hubby's boss & his brother have 1000+ acres just north of here with a nice big lodge style home on it, so hubby & about 17 others all headed up there Friday night.  So far, as of about an hour ago, only 1 person has shot anything.
I told hubby he can't come home until he bags one! He will be in & out all week between work & the hunting camp. He will make an appearance here at home for Thanksgiving though!

We finally had our first snowfall last Saturday...not much & it was all gone within 2 days.

here's a couple of pics of the system as it was moving in the day before...

It brought in some pretty clouds

daughter & one of the kitties snuggling up on a cool afternoon...

Seen our first Albino squirrel on the property last week

Hubby & I tried a new restaurant last week...Jewel of India. I had never had Indian food before. They actually had a huge menu with a lot of yummy sounding dishes.
We both opted for lamb dishes & had we known that they would be brought out in bowls that we could have passes around & shared, we would have ordered different types of meat.
We both enjoyed it very much & will be going back to try some other things.  I only had my cell phone to take pics of the food with, but better than nothing...

This beer was in a bottle the size of a wine bottle! lol..

I don't remember what anything was called now! lol..but even though it doesn't look real appetizing, it was all delicious!

If you have not tried them yet, you must buy a package of the limited edition Peppermint Oreos.  Ohmygosh are they ever good!

If I don't post again before then (and with my history, I probably won't!)  I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.

  • A day at the park

I have been a busy beaver here lately. Lots of doctor appointments and shopping for the holidays.
I still have the fear of the huge snowfall that will trap me here at home, so I feel the need to try to get the bulk of my holiday shopping done before it gets too nasty here!
We actually *knocking on wood  have been very lucky so far this year on our winter weather...but I know it is coming!

I have to share this picture that was on the game camera a while back. These coons just keep getting bigger & bigger! The deer don't look too thrilled to be having to share with him either!

Hubby is still spending as much time as he can hunting. Still no luck though.
He did take a break from it a few Sundays ago & it was such a pretty day that he & I took a nice long walk through our favorite park.

The leaves were just about all turned & fallen then...they really are now!

This little guy posed for me !

    a baby peacock!

    Love the big kitties :)

beautiful!  I was really wishing that I was out on that canoe!

awww, this little cutie was enjoying the sun too!

    Mama cleaning her young one

I would hate to carry that thing around all of the time!

    me & hubby :)

  • Nutty Scare

Back when daughter was 2 years old, she ate a Butterfinger nugget...just a small little square of a Butterfinger candy...she almost died from that little piece of candy.
I was home alone with her that night & what I noticed first was drool just running out of her mouth (little did I know at that time that her throat was swelling up).
Then came the rash & the bright red skin, then she was gasping for air.  I immediately took her to the ER & that is when we found out that she had food allergies.
For many years we kept an EpiPen. Her daycare, friends parents, family & later schools were all notified of this allergy & she has always managed to avoid peanut butter & nuts of all sorts.

Fast forward now to when she is 21 years old. An adult, but yet still my baby.

Monday morning after her first class, she had a meeting with her advisor, so instead of coming home between classes like she usually does, she went to get a snack & a drink after the meeting & before her next class.
She got what she thought was a chocolate chip cookie from one of the little places on campus. This was around 10:00.  She then called me & said that she thought that there may have been nuts in that cookie as she had some bumps on her skin & her throat was scratchy. I asked how bad it was, she didn't think it was too bad. (a few times when she has eaten foods cooked in peanut oil or other things with some nuts in them, has only warranted a few bumps & a scratchy throat) so we concluded that she should just get a Benadryl in her system & I told her to call me after she did to let me know if it had helped or not.

Well, needless to say, we ended up in the ER. The Benadryl did help for an immediate aide, but by the time we got her there, her skin was bright red. She had whelps all over her including her scalp. Her neck was swollen. Thank goodness her breathing wasn't too bad, but still not that great.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the health care system up here. As soon as we got inside, they just took a bit of pertinent information & her insurance card & then sent us both over to the vitals nurse. We sat there while she took her BP, temp, pulse, etc. and then she said she was going to get Lori into a room. As we stood up & turned to follow her, Lori said that she felt woozy and within seconds started falling. I was right by her, so I grabbed on to her & the other nurses came to help & brought a wheelchair. She had passed out. We couldn't keep her in the wheelchair as she was trying to fall out of it, so they started yelling for help & a cart. I was so scared, not knowing exactly what was happening & no mother ever wants to see their child in pain, hurt, sick or in this case...unconscious.

They got her up onto a stretcher & she finally came to. She definitely gave all of the doctors a bit of a scare. The vitals nurse said that her system was racing though & probably between the Benadryl, the reaction to the allergy, her nerves & then standing up quickly, it just all got to her.

They gave her 3 different pills and a breathing treatment & monitored her for a good while before releasing her.

They did say that it could take a few days to get all of this completely out of her system & if any of the symptoms returned to get into the ER immediately.
She has done fine since then, so hopefully it is out of her system now & behind us.

I don't care how old they get....we still panic when they are hurt or ill.

I snapped these with my cell phone.

the drugs & the exhaustion from the panic finally took her out.

    breathing treatment.

Thank you God for getting us through this emergency!

  • Happy hump day!

The weather all over has been crazy.  We have been having extreme winds here the last 2 days.  The temperatures plunged as well.
Right now we are at 39 degrees with a wind chill of 29. I have seen rain, snow & sleet today! (although everything quickly turned back to water as it hit)
It was very hard to try to push my fully loaded grocery cart through the parking lot & very miserable having to unload it all into the car!

Yesterday morning I was bringing things in off of my front porch as the winds were starting up then. I was transferring them into the garage.
I had a pair of my rubber garden crocs on. It had also been raining outside. As I had my hands full & walked from the outside in to the garage, I slipped, then slid then crashed to the ground!
Needless to say, I landed on my bad knee...dontcha always!  Talk about pain. I am even sorer today of course & I am sure that I will be sore for the next several days.

Hubby & I went out last night. We had tickets to see Arlo Guthrie.
First we went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants downtown. I had one of the best meals that I have ever had there ( and I have had many!)
I had a pork tenderloin with a fig chutney on top, mashed Yukon gold & sweet potatoes & broccolini. All of the flavors combined were outstanding!
The concert was entertaining. Quite the mixture of people in attendance!  A lot of old hippies, older, well dressed people, college aged kids & then just normal folk like us! lol..

Daughter is finally starting to show some improvement in her health, thank goodness. She still has the nasty cough, but usually only in the mornings & sometime in the evening now. (Instead of nonstop like it was!)
You can also just tell in the way she looks & she sounds that she is finally starting to heal.   She is still having the shortness of breath though & the inhaler doesn't seem to be working for that.

This was taken several days ago while I was sitting on the front porch.  As you can see, most of the leaves are down from the trees.
After these winds get through, we will be lucky to have any leaves left!

Yes, I had fun watching my squirrel in the big oak tree!

These next few are of  sunset & some massive clouds  (also from several days ago!)

And then one of our cute pet visitors.

    some animal humor...

    If animals could talk...

  • Mundane Monday

Just a quick hello to all.  Can you believe that we are in  our last week of October! yikes!
We have snow showers in our forecast for Wednesday & Thursday of this week...double yikes!
It was another absolutely boring weekend here.
    Hubby hunted. Didn't get anything.
Daughter, bless her heart, is just miserable with this cough. She pretty much stayed in bed the whole weekend.

I enjoy sitting outside this time of the year. Well, anytime really, but right now I enjoy the crispness in the air
& watching & hearing all of the birds & animals  moving around getting prepared for the changes in the weather.
I took this picture a while back . The crows were thick in the yard And I captured this one as he was perched in a treetop...

One day last week, I was sitting on the front porch reading a magazine when  a bird landed on the scarecrow right in front of me.
Of course, I didn't have my camera out with me...I know...I should ALWAYS have it by my side, especially here! lol..
But I slowly moved to get my phone out of my pocket and was surprised that he actually stayed long enough for me to get a few shots of him.
Of course, with my cell phone the pictures are not the best, but here ya go...

I was shooting right into the sun & I actually loved the rainbow prisms that it made!

I angled it different to avoid the direct sun & got a clear shot.  Cute, huh!

These next pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago...yes, I am very far behind!
Daughter decided to carve one of her pumpkins.

A neat owl on a limb!

I was cross stitching & saw my 2 girls sharing a comforter for a nap.

It reminds me of yin & yang  :)

OK...going to end this with something that I got in an email from a friend...

    Thoughts by Dale Duck...

    Marriage changes passion.
Suddenly you're in bed with a relative.

I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with 'Guess' on it.
    So I said 'Implants?'
    She hit me.

How come we choose from just  two people to run for president and over fifty for Miss America ?

Now that food has replaced sex in my life,
I can't even get into my own pants.

I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over?

Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?

    Wouldn't you know it....
Brain cells come and brain cells go,
    but FAT cells live forever.

Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed outside?

    Bumper sticker of the year:
'If you can read this, thank a teacher -and, since it's in English, thank a soldier'

And remember: life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I hope you all have a great week!

  • Bucky Jr. comes to visit

Yesterday afternoon hubby got home late afternoon & was going to hunt for a bit.
Before he headed up to his tree stand, he was putting some corn out for the deer.
He got a business call & was standing outside talking when up walks a young buck

    ^hubby                                                                                                                ^Bucky Jr.

He was real curious about what was in those buckets....

    He noses his way up...

    then checks out hubby...

but isn't too worried about him!

Gotta love moments like this.   These kinds of close encounters are much more charming than those with that big bear!
