Happy Saturday all! I am so bad on my posting any more. And my internet connection is even up to speed, so that is not part of my excuse any more.
I have just been staying busy with the house & now the yard too. Plus spending more time on Facebook & taking time out for me.
There are just so many things to do & that I want to do, it doesn't seem like there is enough time in each day to get to them all.
The temps here have been great. It was HOT yesterday! It got up to 88 the last time I saw the temp at around 4:00.
I worked outside all day long & it felt SO good. There is such a reward in working hard & seeing results & creating a pretty yard. Even though I was tired, sweaty & aching at the end, I was so content & satisfied.
We did have a good storm come in last night. In fact, around 5:00, I was outside taking pictures of the clouds. (yeah, you know me!) They were getting pretty wicked looking. Then I heard the tornado sirens go off.
First thought being the Okie girl that I am was to head for the basement....then I realized that I was hearing the sirens out here...I was surprised as being out in the rural area, I didn't think that we would. About that time, hubby called me & said the sirens were going off in Eau Claire also & told me to turn the local channel on to see what was going on. Well, remember last June when I moved up here & what I learned about their siren system here? They are not sounded strictly for tornadoes, but for any type of a warning. So they are going off because we were under a thunderstorm warning. Grrrrrr.....that just isn't right. One day a tornado really is going to come through here & nobody is going to heed the sirens. I may need to pay City Hall a visit & try to get things changed around here!
Good news on my parents....they ARE going to get to come as planned the first part of May!!! My dad is not going to have to have surgery now!! Yay!!! I am very excited to see them & to have them see where we live. They will be here over Mother's Day & also for hubby's birthday.
Daughter is Oklahoma bound. She will be gone a week. Going back to Broken Arrow to see friends & gather for Theatre Production's annual showcase. She is so excited.
Daughter & I went to see "17 Again" last week. We both loved it. I have never seen the High School Musical movies, so I had no idea what a cutie pie Zac Efron was! lol...daughter has since gone out & bought all 3 movies. She has watched them, I haven't yet but will soon!
I have finished reading the final Twilight book. Just finished it last night. I always am sad to finish a good book & especially one that is the last of the series. Daughter told me about an unpublished "Edward's view" of the 1st book. She is reading it online right now on Stephanie Meyer's website. I may need to go & read that now too.
PICTURE TIME.....First we will start with my stormy cloud pics from yesterday
(quit laughing at me!)
thunderhead yesterday morning around 6:30
storm starting to move in around 5:00 yesterday
I do keep in mind that April's showers bring May's flowers!
the lilac bushes are all budding out!!!!
This is one thing that my mom wants to see so bad is the lilacs.
She loves them & their scent.
See how everything is greening up.
they were at every bird feeder that they could get to, plus the salt blocks & eating the plants!
Outside the living room window. one eating out of the birdfeed, the other eating the plants that are coming up.
Then the turkeys come in & eat the seed that the deer leave on the ground ....Here's a couple of videos. Now you can see how much we enjoy watching the wildlife. They can be quite comical at times.
Turkey chase...
The deer on this particular evening were having so much fun just running around & playing.
This was also the same evening that they were eating out of all of the birdfeeders.
we have had a visitor on our balcony the last several nights.
We were also woke up to the sounds of foxes one night.
The visitor left his tracks all over our grill.....
Evidently a pretty good sized raccoon.
bulbs coming up under the big evergreen in the center of our drive.
strange looking blooms on a tree. Anyone have any idea what they are?
These are coming up around the house...no idea what they are ??
There are a couple of these around the house ?
I did need some instant color, so I bought these Gerberas...
So much yard clean up. I just keep making big piles & them hubby burns them when he can & when we aren't under any burn bans.
"burn baby, burn..."
That's it for now. I will be making my rounds to visit all of you as soon as I can.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
Zany hugs to you all.

Your weather and our weather on the plateau is nearly the same. Even though we are in the south, our elevations cancels it out.
I would have panicked if the sirens went off like that....that means tornado to me too...it's either get to the celler / basement.....OR put your head between your knees & kiss your ass goodbye!
I just love all the pictures you take, it's kind of like being ale to experience what it's like living there through them
Oh I bet you will be ever so happy when you get to visit your Ma and Pa.
Having that siren go off like that, I dunno kind of reminds me of car alarms going off, eventually you just block them out cause you hear them so much. Loved the video's why you have your very own nature show going on right outside your window

:sad9:Unfortunately, Doreen, the two koi died. One koi survived. I immediately got two more kois and put them in the pond. The goldfish took to them right away and started playing with them. The poor koi who just lost his two friends, just sort of hid.
