  • Visitors & Celebrations

    Happy Friday the 13th!  I hope it is a lucky one for you!

    I am a week behind in posting...*sigh*  Where IS the time flying to? I have really been enjoying the nicer weather & spending more time outdoors. Bought my fishing license yesterday & now can't wait to make that first cast!

    We have been swarmed with Orioles this year. I am going through 4 oranges a day & they are also drinking out of the hummingbird feeders! They are beautiful birds, so we are really enjoying seeing so many around. We have had a few hummingbirds but not as many as usual yet. Also have seen a couple of Indigo buntings.

    Daughter actually surprised me on Mother's Day & stopped by for a bit before she had to head in to work!!!

    Even though she closed the night before at work & then went out with friends & didn't get in until late, she set her alarm to get up early enough to stop by before having to head back to work.
    She said that she just couldn't NOT see me on Mother's Day

    Monday was hubby's birthday and she was back over to celebrate for that.


    Wanted to get a family shot...even though we all have our winter fat on! lol...


    Birthday dinner was spaghetti & homemade sauce & meatballs.

    and peach pie (hubby's favorite ~well one of many!) for dessert.

    I love these 2 more than anything!

    Daughter only has 2 days of school next week for finals & then that is it until Fall semester.
    She will be working as many hours as she can to build up that bank account.

    We have hubby's parents coming in to finally visit us & see our place! They are coming on Memorial Day weekend. We are really looking forward to that.
    Daughter has a friend coming to visit her from Oklahoma the following weekend.

    Looking forward to fishing, farmers markets, festivals, music in the park, hiking, canoeing, picnics....aaaahh..I could go on...I love this time of the year!!!!

    I just finished this book by Luanne Rice. She is one of my favorite authors & I have read every one of her books, but I must say this one was a disappointment for me.  Anyone else out there reading it or have read it? If so, let me know what you think.

  • The Oriole is a pretty bird, nice capture! It's sort of like, life shifts to a higher gear when the snow melts. Your fam is nice too. :)

  • You've been a happy sort of busy and that's wonderful. I'm so glad your daughter was able to stop by on Mother's Day, and you all got to celebrate Mike's bday together. It's finally warm here, too, and I love it! Haven't been able to get out much, but I'm dying to go on a photo day again. Hugs!

  • I love the Oriole pictures.  We used to have them nesting around our house  but since we have moved, I only spot one once in a while.  I've tried putting out feeders and oranges but haven't seen any come to feast on them.  The idea of home made sauce with spaghetti and meatballs makes my mouth water..Looks like you had a nice birthday celebration with your daughter.  It is really  very warm here today.   I just love the warm weather, but don't know how long it will last.

    Your daughter is just so sweet... of course she couldn't miss Momma on Mothers day ;o)
    So what did Hubby get for his birthday?
    I bet you are looking forward to doing all those things after a long cold winter.
    Heck i wanta do that stuff too lol
    I have the kids for a week and a half while Tecis is in VA...i am tired already and i am only on my second day haha

  • @Luvthewaves - I thought you may have the kids...why is Tecia in VA? Hubby got gun stuff from me and food goodies & books from Lori :)
